How unit price works
Divide the package price by its quantity. The lower cost per unit is the better price for the same amount.
For example, a $4.50 package with 12 ounces costs $0.375 per ounce. A $6 package with 20 ounces costs $0.30 per ounce, so option B costs $0.075 less per ounce.
The comparison assumes you can use the full quantity and excludes tax, delivery fees, and other discounts.
